![]() We had them all at launch in SF4, and two were at SF5's launch with the others coming later as DLC (every World Warrior, in fact, has made it into both games). ![]() It's not to say these fighters shouldn't be featured often, but do they all need to be around from the very start here as part of the initial allure for SF6 when they were all in both of the previous rosters? Honda, Dhalsim, and Zangief, though? They're also iconic, but not quite to the same degree. When it comes to Ryu and Chun-Li Capcom has flat out stated Ryu and Chun will be part of every SF game moving forward, and that makes enough sense as these figures (and Ken) represent the franchise in a way most all others (you can argue for Akuma here as well, but he's almost always a delayed release) simply are not. This time around we're getting a whopping 10 Street Fighter 2 characters to start with, no originals from either Alpha or Street Fighter 3, single reps from Street Fighters 4 and 5, and then six newcomers. ![]() Mika, and Charlie Nash made up the Alpha representation, and then Necalli, Rashid, Laura, and F.A.N.G served as the new guard. They chose to compile the game's original 16 fighters from two previous rosters (Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter Alpha) and then come up with four brand new characters to add to the mix.Įight of these fighters (half the total) hailed from Street Fighter 2 including Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Vega, M. Capcom specifically compiled 2016's Street Fighter 5 roster from three places.
